We would like to thank United Way of the Northern Shenandoah Valley for their grant. Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter was a new program applicant in 2016. The grant program funded a Centralized Housing Intake Coordinator position to serve Clarke County, Frederick County, Shenandoah County and the City of Winchester completing assessments for the homeless and near homeless population and work to place them in homes.

During the month of August, we assisted 16 households to secure permanent housing. Financial Assistance given to secure the housing was $19,339.06.

Many thanks to St. Stephens Lutheran Church for their generous donation of $2000. Their church council decided to donate the profits from their ice cream social to a local charity and we were chosen as the LUCKY recipient.


We received a donation from Dupont Community Credit Union in the amount of $2925.75. A team of 25 DCCU employees formed there 2016 Corporate Charity campaign team to develop and execute various fundraisers open to DCCU employees. Thanks to their generosity, we were presented with a check for $2,925.75.
