Can I drop in for help?
In order to protect our clients’ confidentiality, we work by appointment only. We cannot risk potential clients dropping in while we are interviewing another household. To be screened for assistance, call Centralized Intake at 540.271.1701 and leave a message with your name, number, and information on your housing situation.
Can I drop off donations without making an appointment?
Because we may be interviewing clients or out at a meeting, we recommend calling our office before dropping off any donations to make sure we are there to receive them. Our two office numbers are 540.459.3212 and 540.459.8395.
Do you serve men?
We serve single men, single women, single parent/guardian families, two parent/guardian families, and couples without children. The only household type we cannot serve is a child-only household (no one over the age of 18 in the household).
Do you still provide shelter since your facility burned down in April 2014?
In emergency cases where you cannot temporarily stay with family or friends, or other local shelters are full, we can provide at most two weeks of hotel/motel vouchers. However, you must agree to obtain permanent housing within that time. We cannot provide assistance with long-term hotel stays. Single men or households with adult males are prioritized as there are no shelters that accept adult men in Shenandoah County.
